Party On a Budget! (Happy Fourth Birthday Paige!!)
Happy fourth birthday to Paige!
We had a little last-minute party for her last week at the church building. We weren't going to do much in the way of decor, but then my mom came over for a visit and brought the party with her! Mom's are so great at that.
Our theme was sort of "whatever we have", so it became a pink party with a subtle asian theme.
My mother brought lots of beautiful hand-crocheted little roses for the tables and some pink lanterns she bought on clearance. Leftover paper butterflies from easter were pinned to curtains I had in my closet for a backdrop to the present opening "throne". Leftover easter egg filler toys from her church's easter egg hunt became favors, which we put in little paper bags with pink notes on them. And mom and I stayed up the night before, laughing and folding paper fans out of scrap booking paper. She also brought a chocolate cake from Costco which we added white-chocolate chip "polk-dots" to.
But the best thing she brought with her? A homemade organic gluten-free, dairy-free, processed sugar-free chocolate cake! Which was enjoyed thoroughly by Paige and her cousin Jack, who both have some food sensitivities. Cake is a big deal to them. :o) (Thanks, Mom!!)
She was a very happy, twirly girl! :o)
Happy birthday little darling. I love you, four year old Paige.
So, so cute and Paige is adorable! I hope she has a very blessed year!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! It looks like she had a blast! (Any chance you can post the recipe for the organic homemade cake? It looks gorgeous, and my daughter and nice are celiac and lactose intolerant. Always looking for new kid-friendly treats...)
ReplyDeleteMy four year old is going to be needing that cake recipe too...desserts are so hard to come by for those special diets. Beautiful birthday. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to 4 year old paige! What a sweet party!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely. I especially like the crocheted roses, such a neat concept.
ReplyDeleteWell who could not be twirly in a gown like that one?
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, she is such a LADY these days! I only began reading your blog very recently, but she really is looking like a kid and not so much of a toddler or baby. What a princess.
Happy Birthday to Paige! (Glad she got her cake and could eat it, too.) (Is that joke already old for you all? Sorry.) :)

Don't you just love how things can come together! Paige looks so happy. It doesn't take hours upon hours of party planning to make a child feel loved. It is a reminder that what truely matters is eternal (our childrens souls) and not just the beautiful things we see and want to give them along the way.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I really love little Paige (Happy birthday muffin :*)

ReplyDeleteSo cute and wonderful!!! Any way you could post the recipe for the cake? I have a very dear friend (and you remind me of her in many ways) with two kids who have similar food allergies to Paige, and I know she's always looking for good recipes -- especially since her other two kids are allergy-free.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Paige!
Happy Birthday Ms. Paige. Have an enjoyable day and love your "pink" party.
ReplyDeleteThank you guys! I will ask my mother about the cake recipe. A lot of times she just whips things up out of the blue with her special magic, so I'm not sure if she used a recipe or not. I'll let you know! :o)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful!! Happy Birthday Paige!
