Happy May Day!

Happy May Day!

Did you ever make flower-filled cones to leave on neighbors' doors anonymously on May Day? My mom did it a few times with us when I was a little girl and I loved it. I felt so sneaky! For a few moments I was a covert spy, delightfully awaiting the surprised expression on the recipients' face.

This is kind of a special day in our family, so we'll be spending it together. I can't wait! It's going to be a wonderful day. :o) I hope you enjoy your May Day as well!

In honor of the occasion, here's a roundup of some of my favorite flower tutorials:

Aren't those beautiful?

Have a wonderful day! Don't forget to stop and smell the flowers. :o)

  1. Cute! My family never did anything for "May Day." I think it's so cute though. It's something I think I want to do with my children (when I have them).

  2. I love this! We left May Baskets on our neighbors' doors when I was growing up. It was so fun to hang the basket, ring the bell, and run away! Since being an adult I've only met a few people who knew this tradition.

  3. Here, in Spain, in the North-West, from where I am, it is a tradition to wear the regional clothes and dance the may songs as in the same way that in the first picture, women wear flowers in the hair, men give flowers to women as a present, to old, young and child women, and there is a great celebration of the spring time... Homemade food, old friends, members of the family that you don't see for a long time... We have certain celtic traditon, celebrating and loving mother Nature... It is more like a pagan and ancient celebration... It is beautiful

  4. Aw, thanks for including my petal tee! I am loving your starfish shirt! Might be my next craft night project...though I do randomly happen to have gold sequin fabric!
