...Hello? (And Guest Posting at Whip Up!)
Hello in there....
I wanted to let you all know that I'm guest posting today at Whip Up! I'm so excited! It's a little footwear refashion that I've had in my head since I made the "Lauren" headbands.
I turned these:
Into these:
The shoes weren't exactly ugly to start with, but just a little boring to me. We never really wore them. Now they're some of my favorites! I love the color contrast on mine. And I was able to save the original bows and make some little clippies for Paige! Hot dog!
I had so much fun doing these, I wish I had ten more pair to work with! I'd love to try some of these ideas:
I won't lie...this is the first project I've done since I stopped blogging. Isn't that crazy? Sad, but true. I suppose, in my case, half the fun of making things is sharing them with the world! Or, a very small part of the world, anyway. :o) But I will admit, writing a tutorial again was absolutely thrilling, and it's already put a couple of other ideas in my head.
So...how've you been??
Well, I hope! I feel like I'm talking to friends I haven't seen in years! I can't tell you how much it means that you're all still here. When I announced that I wasn't going to blog anymore, I braced myself for seeing the 4,000+ followers drop to a depressing zero. ...But you stayed. :o) I can't believe it! And I've even had a few hundred more friends join since then. (Welcome!) I was definitely not expecting that, it is so wonderful to see you all here still.And we have been doing great, by the way! I wish I could say that this post marks the beginning of my return, but I I'm not sure that I'm quite ready for that yet. But I've been so encouraged by your comments, and I think maybe I will try to show my face around here a little more often! In the mean time, I hope you enjoy the tutorial over at Whip Up.

P.S. I also want to say thank you to everyone who sent well-wishing goodbye emails. I know that sadly, many of the literally hundreds of you never got a reply, and I'm sorry. But please know that they really did mean so much to me. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteIf you're feeling pressured to blog (which I totally understand) maybe keep to a once a week schedule? Or every other week thing? I just love your style so much, that this little tutorial is like a big glass of water after a drought.

Disney, I feel so bad that I have never left a comment on your blog. I don't mean to be a lurker, I'm not sure why I don't comment, but I hadn't been to any of my favorite blogs in a couple of months. Having all 4 kids home during the summer is a lot of "Mommy time" and honestly i was starting to feel a little overwhelmed by all the projects I was finding on the web, but not having time to do them.
