Merry Me!

Ohhhhh Christmas. How I love you.

I have tried with all my might to put off the Christmas anticipation this year, but I can't help it any more. I'm so excited!!! All my crafty thoughts have turned to tree ornaments and wreaths, and handmade presents! I really try to wait until after Thanksgiving to get like this, but one month of Christmas is just not enough for some nutty people like myself.

This year I'm describing my Christmas style as OrganicVintageHandmadeGlamSparkly.....with a touch of woodsyness(not a word. whatever.). I'm loving gold and rhinestones, birds and twigs, and old books and clocks. (Has anyone seen clock face ornaments?? I can't find them anywhere!)

And I'm just curious-what are all of you doing for your holiday decor? Do you have a theme? Are you even thinking about it yet?

I am also super excited about Christmas!! and decorating. Unforutunatly my husband won't let me start decorating, but I did make most of the presents this year, so I'm almost done with shopping and everything that goes with that!

The clock face ornaments are super easy do it yourself project...just hit your local thrift store get a bunch of watches take them apart to get out the face then sting them through the hole in the center the hands were in and TADA....clock face ornaments!! =) Good luck! I'd sure love to see them if you make any!

(man I wish my craft blog was started....that would have been my first tutorial! hehe)

I'm thinking candy colors, but in a tarnished, vintagey way. I am so excited for Christmas! Can't wait to see what all you do!

I bet the clock faces would be super easy to make! Thrift sores have watches, often for cheap. Just take the watch apart and string the face on a ribbon!

I am so going to try to make one! I will keep my eyes out for old watches. (Note: try the thrift stores that aren't Goodwill, which charges too much for ...this type of stuff... well... everything.)

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday but Christmas is a close second. And there isn't Thanksgiving music:) That being said, I couldn't agree more that a month just is NOT long enough to celebrate the awesome season. My hubby has put the kibosh on actual decorating until after Thanksgiving but the wheels are turning. I've always loved silver and blue.

I'm a Christmas FANATIC!!! My sister and I start watching Christmas movies in July, but we secretly watch them all year round! She has already put her tree up she is so excited, but I'm trying to hold off a bit. My heart is ALL ready for Christmas but my husband would have a heart attack if I started Christmas talk-so I have to keep it under wraps until after Thanksgiving. Such a bummer!

O.k. glad I'm not the only person who is already starting to assemble my arsenal of Christmas madness.Oh how I love it so.I have one minor problem, My daughters b-day is Christmas Eve so we generally don't decorate until she has had her pink girly party first(I like to make her feel special)But I love white, silver and reds, and my tree HAS to be a perfect Nobel Fir.Its not as fun though going to a tree lot and picking it out as it was going to the farms and cutting your own, something I'm sure you miss too:)Can't wait to see what you do.

Hey there Disney, the Christmas things look so lovely, I am inspired to get busy with my decorating.
By the way, WOODSINESS is a word. It means 'an abundance of trees'. ;)

We really do have the same taste but those are my FAVORITE things. I can't wait to see your ideas. And Target has some AMAZING things right now that fit in with that theme. (I still think they're overpriced so give me some good ideas for dollar tree remakes, please :)

This year is my first ever christmas tree!! Of my own!! So I'm starting basic - silver and red. I'm planning on making stuffed first initials so far, as well as involving some bells and hints of glitter. The clocks are a really awesome idea - I'd love to see some :)

Sounds so galmerous! Can't wait to see what you do! I'm doing a upscale country theme with burlap. I just posted the first part, my Be Merry white burlap pillow.

Last year I made paper ornaments for our tree - chains and origami stars, etc. This year I'm thinking a fabric yo-yo garland and fabric birdies, maybe some patchwork stars and stuff. I need to get busy though!

I left a comment a while back about making some of the clock ornaments. I actually found a clock face free online. Here is the link.
