I love the look of those picture frames with gemstones on them, don't you? However, clear gem stones can be pretty expensive, so I thought I'd try it out with these glass gems I found at Walmart for only $3 a bag.
I really like them! :o)

All you need are: picture frames(mine came from the $ Tree), spray paint, small glass gems, and hot glue.

Spray your frames and let dry...

Glue on your beads. I did two rows all the way around the frame on the gold and silver, and 1 row on the black. (I tried using the all purpose glue in the corner of this pic, but it ate away the paint a little bit. Hot glue works much better!)

Add some embellishments if you'd like! Bows, brooches, buttons, flowers...whatever you have lying around!

And fill them with photos!
Pretty and easy! :o)

I just recently found your blog, and I love it! these frames are so perfect- I am going to make some and give them to my new step mom. Thank you!
beautiful! thanks for sharing such a easy craft! looks like a million bucks!
These are so cute and a cheap way to make my house looking pretty. Thank you for this great idea! The middle picture looks like a wedding photo. It looks like your husband is shorter than you. That is soooo cute! I think that demonstrates how sweet you are.
Why can't Martha Stewart hire you for her magazine? You have so much better ideas. It may be better that you don't so I get your craft ideas for free online rather than buying her magazine :o)
Those are sooo pretty! Thanks for sharing the how-to. Also, a huge thanks for featuring me on your sidebar! wowee!
I love these! I have a bunch of old frames I was going to give to Goodwill and a box of flat marbles I kept trying to figure out why I had! Now I know exactly what to do with both! Thanks! <3

Wow! Great cheap bling! This would be a fun project to do at my daughter's 9th bday party this year! I think all the girls would like to make their own to bring home and for only a couple bucks each it sounds like a great craft.
Just discovered your blog, but you are a fountain of inspiration already!
These frames are such a good idea. I was going to make some other frames with a totally different look and these would look delightful with them. What a great idea. Thank you so much. xo
you are so talented!!! I love every single project you make. Sometimes I wish I was able to use a sewing machine...
merry christmas from Italy
This project was a Christmas saver as the apron project my son was going to make for his Grandma fell through when we couldn't find any frog prints that we liked and I remembered this project and he made these instead except we are calling them "stoned frames" as "fancy pants" sounded to girly.
Here is a link to what me made (no bows or other bling, just the stones):

I have a bunch of these little glass stones that I found at Dollar Tree. I also have a few of those small, square wooden mirrors from Ikea that I've never been too fond of. Sounds like a little spray paint, some hot glue and glass beads are the trick! Thanks for the idea!
Hey, I've done these as Christmas gifts that turned out beautifully! I've since made some for myself as well. Both my giftee and myself have had problems with the stones falling off. Has anyone else had this issue? I wonder if I didn't use enough glue or if I should use epoxy and not hot glue... Still love 'em though!
I love this idea! I can't wait to try it out! Thanks for the awesome idea!!!
