"Beachcomber" Dress Tutorial!
Good morning, everyone!
Well, I usually try to space out my guest posts as much as possible, but as the fates would have it, I'm doing two in a row this week! First the toy caterpillars for LuvintheMommyhood, and today, I am visiting Sachiko, of Tea Rose Home, sharing this tutorial that I came up with last week:
The "Beachcomber" Dress
Made entirely from white cotton jersey, with braided "rope" straps and belt.
Cute. Comfy. And SO easy to make!
It reminds me so much of the beach we used to visit all the time when I was a little girl.
So grab your sunscreen and strappy sandals, and head over HERE for the tutorial!
:o) I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to make my little girls a new dress. I think I will make it out of terri cloth and use it as a beach cover-up. Soo cute!ReplyDelete

Tomorrow, Wednesday the 25th, I have a really fun post planned, kind of crazy. I know you'll like it; so I hope you'll stop by.
And my daughter's Kimberly, Age 17, of What To Wear, www.w0wiloveit.blogspot.com, and Emily, Age 9, of Super Stitches, www.sewingsister.blogspot.com, have some really great posts coming out tomorrow as well. You may even want to feature Emily in your sidebar. And you'll probably want to make one for yourself.

Disney, I love this! I made a small (huge) goof when I started cutting and ended up cutting the bottom hem off the T. The serger saved the day! I just did a lettuce edge and made it even more ruffle-y. I did it on the top edge also...ruffle madness!!! I love the idea of tie dying also. So many great ideas!ReplyDelete

So adorable. I grew up in Seattle. One of my first dates with my husband was to Ocean Shores. We spent a Fourth of July there after we were married. The only time I've ever ridden a moped. Thanks for the memories (I agree, beaches should be rocky and cold) and the dress.ReplyDelete
I just love it!!! My girl needed a white shirt for her kindergarten graduation so I quickly made this into a shirt for her..you were right very quick and easy to make..The best part is I got a ton of white shirts from the dollar store awhile back that I have just been waiting to use..I love the fact that it only cost me $1. She absolutly LOVES it!! Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial for a beginner sewer like me!!! Now on to making four more for my other girls:)ReplyDelete

Just had to tell you I followed you over here from your guest post. I live in Ocean Shores, WA! We just moved here about a year ago. I love it so much. I even made the front page of the North Coast News last week with my beach combing find...a large glass float :) Love your blog, will definitely be following. You can probably find lots of beach pictures in my blog archives too! Nice to "meet" you!ReplyDelete
I bought a 3 pack of tshirts this weekend (black, gray, and white) and made one for each of my girls =) I used ribbon as straps for two of them and left off the belt (they wouldn't wear it anyway LOL). They are so cute and they love them! They're shirts on my oldest two, but still awesome.ReplyDelete
