Do We Need These?

Hi guys!
It's been a few days since I posted, sorry 'bout that! Only post when you have something to say, right?

Anyway, there is something I'd love your opinion on.

Um, do you actually like giveaways?

I get offers for them constantly, but I've been politely declining them because, well....I guess I don't really care for them myself? I sort of feel like a craft blog should be mainly that. A blog about crafts! But, that being said, I do love to help out small businesses, and it's a great way for them to get their shop "out there".

So what do you think? Maybe I'm just being a little bit of a blog snob? Am I totally off-base about that?
Please leave a comment to let me know what your thoughts are. I'd be happy to throw in the occasional giveaway if you guys really want them! I do want to make the blog enjoyable for you, my friends!

And on that topic: I switched back to seeing several posts at once. The extra "read more" click was even starting to get to me! (pathetic, aren't we??) Sorry about that! I'm compulsive about things being pretty, even at the expense of convenience, it's silly really.

OK, that's it for now! Hope you're having an amazing weekend! It's a great one at our house so far! :o) Take care!

  1. I love giveaways... I have won a lot of really great things! But that is totally a personal decision.

  2. i say it's up to you. i've never won anything from a give away blog so i'm still unbiased.

  3. I like giveaways as well, but not when you have to "become a follower to get one more entry". Fair chance for everyone ^_^

  5. I like the occasional giveaway, but love reading your blog either way.

It would make my day if you stopped by my blog and said hi!

  6. I'm not really a big fan of giveaways, and I hate it when they take over a blog - I've stopped visiting a few of my old favorites because it seems like all they are is a new sponsor or giveaway every day - I come here for the fabulous crafty ideas, not to win stuff. :o)

  7. Well, when I started blogging I loves them for being a to win things. it I totally agree with Jamie: If a giveaway is just for "catching" followers (1 entry for everyone, 1 for following, 1 for following on facebook, 2 for blogging about the giveaway and so on...) it looses it's charme... =)

    ReplyDelete
  8. I love getting the chance to enter giveaways. Though, i've never won a single one it's still interesting to see what new things are out there. As long as it doesn't take over your creativity and personality, I'm all for it! oh! i also agree with you about the read more. I like seeing all the posts at once! :*)

  9. I like giveaways, but LOVE reading your blog for the crafty things too! You could always try it and if you HATE it, stop doing them?! I dunno, you might be surprise!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I like the pretty look, too. That's one of my favorite things about your blog besides the great ideas is how pretty it is just to keep clicking page down and see all the pretty pictures and see several things at a quick glance without having to read it right then.
Of course, I alway go back and read every single word you post, every single time; I sometimes reread it.

As far as the giveaways, I tire of blogs who have one giveaway after another. I never win them anyway. I think every now and then is okay. So you are the only craft blog I actually visit every day because your ideas are amazing and practical and not a bunch of cheesy, low quality looking felt stuff, but actually pretty, classy and quality looking, like I could have purchased it in a nice store, and it's not full of giveaway clutter. There's only a couple of other craft blogs I go to now and then. And I mean once a month. But you are pretty much it. The other blogs I visit have to do with art and sewing more in line with the focus of my art and sewing blogs. But I come to your blog because of all of your great ideas, and we won't have so many of those if you start doing too many giveaways. We would have to wait and weed through all the giveaway posts to find the good stuff. So I would suggest keeping things the way they are. It's working; so no need to change it. Hope that helps.

  11. I enjoy giveaways, but hate when they make you do a billion things to enter like become a follower and add as a friend on facebook AND add a button. I like my blog to be clean as well and I dont want a million buttons. However, I dont mind adding them to my link list. I also dislike when they take over a blog. One w week is ok, but like 5 a day is annoying. that's my opinion. I personally visit your blog because I enjoy your fabulous talents and creations.

And I am so glad you changed the format to include multiple posts on a page.

You are so talented and amazing! I LOVE your blog!!!

  12. I haven't ever won any...but I think the idea is great...readers get pretty items and businesses get to show a product (I have bought an item or two I didn't know was out there because I found out about it on a blog!) by someone who makes a product that is unique. I'm all about supporting creativity and people trying to make their dreams come true through hard work and the occasional giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think the occasional giveaway is fun, but I do get a little disappointed when I visit some of my favorite craft blogs, excited about a new project, only to be met with a giveaway. bee-boop.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I personally don't care for them... I don't usually see something and think "gosh I sure hope I can win that"... I think "hmmm I wonder if I can make that" hence my passion for all CRAFT BLOGS. So in my personal opinion I would do an occasional give-away for something that I thought was truly special. But that's just me. ;)
    THANKS!

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think giveaways are fun even though I've only won once! I see your predicament!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think it's totally up to you. I agree with the previous commenters that it's annoying when giveaways take over lovely blogs. Maybe if it's something you love, if it's occasional, and if each person only gets one entry. :) That being said, it'd be totally awesome to win something you made!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I love your blog and I love giveaways, but have to agree that when I need to do too many things to enter it's getting annoying. Also, since I live in the other half of the world, I hate it when I read a huge post of instructions only to find out at the bottom that it's only for US residnce... Bah...

Anyway, I'd say follow your heart :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like giveaways, but have yet to win anything :o) I also liked your ruffle challenge, sometimes I need the inspiration to make something new, and feel like if I earned a prize it would be better.

    Just my opinion though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Who doesn't love to get free stuff...BUT if YOU don't like them, then I will still follow your craftiness even with out giveaways.

Maybe a compromise of only doing "crafted" giveaways is a good idea...

    ReplyDelete
  20. I cant stand giveaways. Thats my 2 cents ;)

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't like them, although I've won two of them (smile) but they were the easy ones where I already followed the person, but most of the times they just want you to follow them here and there and it feels like I'm being lured into something I don't want. I really don't like that or bloggers asking for sponsors. =S
    Love your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Giveaways can be great when they aren't over done! Some blogs seem to have sponsor ads everywhere and giveaways all the time. If it is interfering with the content of blog, it is not fun.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I like them - but only when they are straightforward, 1-comment 1-chance type things. I despise the go-to-my-shop-and-become-a-follower-and-a-facebook-fan-and-twitter-and-blog-about-it type things. They have a purpose, but that's obnoxious, IMO. I wouldn't mind seeing a few on your wonderful blog! :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Interesting post again, Disney - I'm inclined to say I'm not mad keen on giveaways for the sake of them, but I also understand it's nice to share and to give goods away! I've done it before and it's lovely to know you're sending something to someone you've never met, just because.

How about a competition to win the freebie instead? i.e. crafters post pics of their latest makes (with a theme - blue, rainbows, nautical, etc. depending on the type of giveaway?) and a group of bloggers (or you if you're feeling brave) judge all the entries and choose the loveliest. That one then wins the freebie?

This gives a bit of blog space to a few different people and we all get to see each others latest creations!

Am I getting a bit carried away? It's an interesting question and i've loved reading all the comments - looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

    L xx

  25. Giveaways can be fun, occasionally. I never enter one that requires you to become a follower or to tweet or add a button. I am super turned off when a blog is so cluttered with sponsors that they have a giveaway or a sponsor hi-light every other day. Too commercial. I choose to read a blog because I enjoy the content, not to win prizes.
I enjoy your content so I keep reading!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I like giveaways, but only when readers are limited to one entry by leaving one comment. This "get another entry by..." "get another entry by..." really takes the fun out.

    Just my two cents! :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I asked my readers that a months ago and I was shocked to hear that about half of them hate giveaways. I'm not a big fan, but I thought I was the only one. If there is a giveaway, I totally agree with the simple entry and not having to go to facebook and twitter, etc.

Also, loved the little lace skirt and never got a chance to comment on it. Great work Disney!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I LOVE giveaways! It gives me a chance to win something I otherwise probably wouldn't buy (we're college students). I've actually won 3 of them so maybe that helps me to like them more?? :)
It's completely up to you if you put them on here or not. I will be a dedicated reader either way. I just love your craftiness.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I like giveaways, but I don't like to see them all the time, there should be some excitement to it. I have been lucky enough to win some neat things like a stack of vintage fabric. It's really annoying when you have to jump through hoops to enter, I actually just avoid those giveaways. I've done 2 successful giveaways and all you had to do was leave one comment. I also gave away things that are related to my blog. Just do what feels right to you, you seem to be making pretty good decisions so far!

    ReplyDelete
  30. So I really like giveaways, but not just because of the free stuff (I've never won anything). I like them because I feel like they're an easy, safe way to post comments. I'm pretty shy when it comes to the bloggy community, and I'm never bold enough to leave comments. But giveaways seem like a safety net to start. Is that weird?

As a side note, though (since I'm posting a comment, I may as well get the "bang for my buck"), I made your pearly flower bracelet (except I sewed down the pieces instead of glued them) and I keep mean to post pictures and link to you. My whole family (mom and sister) is jealous and wants them, too. :-) Great tutorial!

  31. It's your blog, girl!
I'm not a big fan of giveaways...But, yet I do it on my own blog.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I love the occasional give-away. Maybe only do giveaways that are related to your blog like craft supplies or small businesses with similar style to yours? Just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I agree with MrsJoseph... I'd like giveaways that pertain to sewing... colorful fabric, notions, patterns and such! It's inspires me to craft more when I get a big stack of pre-cuts :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't personally care for them. I like reading craft blogs to be inspired, to see something creative or beautiful. I don't usually enter giveaways and just skip those posts in my blogger feed. :) My 2cents. Love your blog soooo SOOOO much!!! You're the best!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think this is your blog and you can do what you want. we obviously love you either way :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love a giveaway, I think they are a lot of fun!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I never won anything in giveaways...I would love to...
But as I am starting my etsy business I would be glad to contribute with a item to encourage that! :)
    I love your blog!!!!!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I think giveaways are fun, but don't like having to jump through hoops (although, I've done that on my blog ;))

The last one I won, I had to predict his finishing time in a race. One entry and you had to think about it. So, if you do decide to host a giveaway, make it fun for us to enter- maybe add a link to something we've crafted (getting the word out about other craft blogs) or how we would use the item.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I enjoy giveaways and being introduced to new starting out artists. What I don't enjoy is when I have to blog, tweet, like on facebook, etc to gain entries. Just one entry per person. That's what I like so much about Dana over at MADE when she has giveaways. Very straightforward.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well... I really love giveaways, as long as they don't take over a blog! I've been blessed to win some really cute stuff. I would LOVE for you to give away fabric, patterns, or anything else related to sewing. That would be great! Just my two cents. Either way, your blog is amazing. :-)

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!

  41. I love craft blogs like yours! But there are several that I had to stop reading because it turned into more giveaways than crafts.
I think a good idea would be to have one giveaway a month, even featuring more than one shop in the giveaway.
But if that's not up your alley, then I would say just do one occasionally, and stick to doing crafts!

    ReplyDelete
  42. In my opinion, most of the giveaways are only there to try to get more followers...which I don't like. I don't think you should "make" people follow you, but hey...I'm sure people's followings have increased dramatically by doing so. I don't mind giveaways, but hate when they are too frequent on a blog.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hi Disney, happy weekend to you and yours :)

I agree with lots of people here..

I enjoy give a ways here and there but only when its "Comment to win" and not do ten different things for different chances, etc. That is truly a pain in the tushie. lol

But give a ways or no your blog is great the way it is.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think giveaways are fun, but you aren't comfortable with them, don't do it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Everything in moderation, right? Sponsors like Giveaways b/c it gets their name out there, and Sponsors are the way that many bloggers make some extra spending money.

I don't mind Giveaways every now and then. To echo a few of the others, I get annoyed and bored when a blog gets completely wrapped up in posting about Sponsors and hosting Giveaways.

The same goes for blog swaps/interviews/Guest posts, etc. I don't mind those every so often, but sometimes it's once or twice a week. Every week. When I click "Follow" on a blog, it's b/c I was interested in what the blog owner had to share. It cheapens the blog to have constant guest posts. Just my opinion.

I don't mind when a blogger offers more than one way to win a Giveaway. I've never seen one that says you *have* to Follow, or Tweet, or FB to enter. Those are usually just secondary entries. I've only done that once (I prefer one entry per person), but when I offered more entries, I got more comments and more hits, and the Sponsor was happy with that.

So...there's a fine balance between keeping your blog relevant, expressing yourself (!), and not letting Sponsorships/Giveaways/Guest Posts take over. I didn't realize blogging was so tough when I signed on. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Totally up to you! We love your blog no matter what! I have to admit I usually skip giveaway posts, but I have won a couple of cute things from blogs I love.

I think a giveaway is much more meaningful when it's something I give away, or a product I truly believe in or a sponsor I truly want to encourage. It's my blog, and I want it to mean something to ME.

I do like my giveaways to be for followers only, because I want to reward MY readers... that may just be me. I want to give something back to them for coming along on a journey with me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't mind giveaways but when you go to a craft blog and see giveaway after giveaway it gets kind of annoying-almost like they are just an advertisement.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have been reading your blog without giveaways. It's a fabulous blog. If you don't start giveaways, I'll still read it. But I do love getting things for free! I love the possibility of being chosen to win! So if you decide to do this and others don't particularly like giveaways...you can just give all the stuff to me!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am at the point where when a blog has too many giveaways I take it off my reader. Its probably a two fold reason 1) I never win (and a lot of times I don't enter because, well, I need to DECLUTTER not add to it) and 2) I would rather read creative ideas than read about a product.
However, I do appreciate people who test new products, read and review books. But I like it when they are willing to say their true feelings - most book reviews I have read in blogs are all "its perfect" versus what I read on Amazon reviews.
So I don't know which way I would go as you because its flattering to be asked I am sure! And sometimes its a pretty cool giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  50. All about balance ... a love a good giveaway, though I've only one once which is better than never!

    margie

  51. I love your blog like that. No giveaway. I did'nt read your blog to win something except your creativity.
Giveaway take to much place...The day of the giveaway, the day of the winner annonce... and don't forget the sponsor! Do you need a sponsor? or twelve?
Thank you very much to refuse "politly" the offer before.
If you don't love that yourself, why do you wabt to enter in this practice?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Let's be snobs together. :) No really it seems like you have hit it right on the nose. If you REALLY like a certain artist/crafter and want to showcase her by giving away one of her products. I think that I pretty cool. Other than that I am not into giveaways either. I DO think it is cool when you have a contest and give products as prizes. That way it encourages people to get creating and sharing for cool prizes. Working for what you get always feels much more rewarding too. :) I have had only a couple of offers but I have no interest at all in what they sell so I have said no. I wouldn't recommend or showcase something that I wasn't madly in love with just to get followers. Just my two cents.

I like that you show more than one post at a time on your blog again. I like it much much better actually.

Thanks being brave enough to ask a question I am sure a lot of people have been thinking about.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If I were you I'd just have a little giveaway corner that occasionally featured a giveaway-- something that didn't draw tons of attention but that people could pay attention to if they wanted. I think people get tired of reading post after post about giveaways, but if it were a sidebar or something it wouldn't be as distracting.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I like simple giveaways. I am not a fan of having to do 100 different steps just to be entered. I have yet to win anything though :(

    ReplyDelete
  55. I like giveaways, but agree with those that said the "Become a follower to get one more! Blog/facebook/tweet this to get one more" gets really obnoxious.

Love your blog, whatever you decide to do with it!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love your blog and your posts. You have such great ideas! An occasional giveaway would be fun!
    Thanks Disney :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Like a lot of folks, I enjoy a good giveaway, but hate when bloggers use them to increase their followers, and such. to me...it is like begging.

    ReplyDelete
  58. The occasional giveaway is fun and I agree it is a good way to support small businesses. However, I think it can get out of hand, especially when large corporate sponsors get involved. One type of giveaway that I do enjoy are contests where everyone submits something they made and then readers vote on which submission should get the prize. It's so inspiring to see what others are working on. morgan@morganmadeit.net

    ReplyDelete
  59. i LOVE giveaways as well, but only when they are one entry per person. I think it's more fair. and easier. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. It's up to you. I personally enjoy giveaways and I've won a good number of them recently. I don't care for giveaways if it's stuff that I don't really care about. So maybe if you stuck to craft or kid related giveaways?? Something to stick with the theme of your blog. I also don't care for giveaways every day, but once a week or every other week or whatever isn't bad at all.

I've also seen a few people who have popular blogs set up a secondary blog called something similar to... 'Ruffles & Stuff Reviews & Giveaways'. They make a post in their main blog about something they love and say 'Oh yeah, I'm giving one of these away, too, come check it out here: ________!'

    ReplyDelete
  61. I like giveaways as long as it is good stuff and if it is simple to enter...I don't like ones that you can get 400 entries by doing different stuff. :)
Also I like being able to see the whole post without clicking read more :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. I love giveaways but I also agree with you, craft blogs should be about crafts! A giveaway every here and there would be great but we're really here to see your stuff!

Also, I'm glad you changed your posts to see several at once, I was thinking of suggesting that if you didn't! :) I don't check out your blog every day so it's easier to scroll down and see what I missed. Pathetic I know, but it works!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I do like occaisional giveaways, as long as they aren't those "do a million things and get more chances" ones. But i could take them or leave them. Really, every tutorial you do is worth more than a giveaway, because then we can all do it and make our own stuff, instead of just one winner.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I do like givaways but not if they take the place of normal posting.

  65. I come to your sight because you post your crafty ideas. Giveaways are really annoying when you have to follow them to enter or my least favorite is having to do 4 or more things just to enter. I have actually quit going to a few of my favorite sites because of the giveaways. It seems they aren't showing creativity much anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I think the occasional giveaway is super fun. I've won twice and gotten super cute handmade items for my daughter that way. I think as long as you choose items that you love and think are beautiful- then you can't go wrong. Of course, I read your blog for your fabulous crafty ideas and would continue to do so with or without giveaways.

    ReplyDelete
  67. For what it is worth, I think an occasional give-a-way is nice - like once a month. It is nice to be introduced to new little businesses and to support them. I also agree with the comments about how to enter - just one entry per person by leaving a comment.
I do so love your blog. It is a happy spot in my days.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I like the occasional giveaway. I do them once in a great while. I had one sponsored one and now that sponsor is popping up on everyone's blog it seems. They asked me to do another one and I declined since there are so many of them from them out there. (They are a big company not a small business).

Your blog is very pretty, by the way!

  69. Agreeing with most other posts! Occasional ones (maybes twice a month) with a one comment-one chance to win kinda thing can be fun. But I would still read your blog if you didn't have any. :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I personally like when bloggers host giveaways that really fit with what their niche is, or things that they would actually use/wear/make themselves.
But that said, I'm a big fan just of just doing what comes naturally to you. So if you don't like them...don't do them or maybe find a different way to do them that suits your personality and style better.

  72. Oh Mrs. Disney,

I hear you on this one! I struggle with this everyday. Like you, I feel like our site is for inspiration, so I made a no giveaways rule...but I have a hard time saying no to these extremely talented woman who are just trying to get a little spotlight that might give them that little push they need to get moving.

So here is my opinion. If that is worth anything :).

Just offer a weekly spotlight to these small businesses that you feel your readers would love, let them write up a little something about themselves, and what they are all about. Then offer a giveaway as part of the segment, with a simple one comment per person rule.

Then tell all the big corporations that you really try to keep the segment for independent "indie" artists.

I think that is in keeping with your site, lifting up the underdog and giving them a little recognition. Totally reminds me of something you would do :).

    You're kinda sweet like that.

    Hope that helps!

Love the new site by the way, looks great!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I like give-aways, but they should be simple and fair. I think they do help small businesses because I have won things and then gone back for more because I really liked the product. Thank being said, it is really up to you. I like your blog and your work, so I'll be checking back regardless. :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I have found myself not even looking at the blog posts that offer giveaways...especially the ones that offer them ALL the time. If I know it's an occasional thing, I would be more likely to check it out! It would be hard for you to go wrong, though. I think I read your blog more than the others...LOVE me some ruffles!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wow, you guys have given some great feedback, thank you so much!! It sounds like a lot of us feel the same way about it, so that's good. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for super-special giveaways to do every once in a while :o)

P.S. And THANK YOU for the compliments, you've no idea how much I needed to hear that. I'm so encouraged!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm not a big fan and rarely read posts that involve them. It's such a small chance that it seems a waste of time to enter.

  77. HELLO, DISNEY, I LIKE THE GIVEAWAYS EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT ONE AFTER THE OTHER, EVERY FEW DAYS, IS TIRESOME. I'VE NOTICED THAT SOME BLOGS ARE ALL ADVERTISEMENTS AND GIVEAWAYS NOW AND I HAVE "DELETED" MYSELF FROM THOSE AND ENJOY THE "REAL" BLOGS THAT HAVE IDEAS AND EXPERIENCES HAD BY THE BLOGGER. I'M NOT PICKY - BUT I DO LIKE REGULAR BLOGS THAT I LEARN SOMETHING FROM. HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!

    ReplyDelete
  78. I love giveaways but I think it depends on what you want your content to be. My blog is about my hobby/business and introducing my readers to new Etsians and cool items so they know to expect giveaways and freebies since it's the core content of my blog. If your readers prefer simple advice and tutorial content I would start another blog for giveaways or only do one every so often. I would love to do some giveaways for anyone you turn down. Hope you get the response you need to make your decision! :0)

  79. I love giveaways! I think ALL followers love giveaways :)

  80. I am new to your blog...and came for the content. I have gotten tired of give-aways. There is even a few that I have removed myself from following because I am tired of them basically becoming a review site. (I know it sounds rude, but true).

    So, I'm with Trudy...

    Tonya

    ReplyDelete
  81. I've begun to remove blogs from my reader when there are giveaways involved. In my opinion, it takes away too much from the blog itself. I like to read blogs that stand on their own two feet with original content and ideas or stories to share. Just my two cents...

  82. I like tutorials much better than giveaways, because everyone is a winner. That being said, it is fun to learn about unique products out there.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think it is fine to do them. I think like many the one entry per person is enough. I also think deciding on a certain day of the week to do it is good...keeps the giveaways to a minimum...like "Giveaway Thurdays" or what have you.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm with most people. I do like (love) giveaways, but a blog that's ALL giveaways is a little annoying. If I were you, I would stick to givaways of things that YOU really love, and are extra excited to share about.

  85. I like your blog just the way it is. :)

    ReplyDelete
  86. I don't like it when that's the whole blog. Like others have said before me, I have removed their blog feed when all I feel like I'm reading are giveaways and newest sponsors. How boring! I've won 1 giveaway in my blogging life (and that was 4 years ago) so I know how awesome it is to win. I think it's nice to showcase the artist for their talent, but I don't like feeling like I'm reading a magazine (80% ads) or watching straight commercials over and over again. That's why I got my DVR, to avoid commercials. I do like it when blogs have giveaways that make sense to what their blog is about, but only like every other week. I don't like it when you have to like them on facebook, follow their feed, subscribe, and post something about them to get an entry. I used to do that, but then it just becamse ridiculous. Within a few weeks if those new blogs didn't have anything that held my interest I stopped following them anyway. Waste of time. I like to be introduced to new people through guest posting. How about they share a tip, inspiration, or what have you (doesn't have to be a tutorial) to have us get to know them and their work. Or like another poster said, have us work for the giveaway. None of my thoughts are new to this post, but I thought I'd share them regardless. Sorry for the novella of a response.

  87. the reason why I love so blog so much it because it is 100% about you and your craftiness. most blogs have become more like a review cum giveaways site - i never read them cos they are normally biased. don't think the review is honest if you are receiving freebies for yourself and your readers to increase readership, right?just my opinion ...... but you should do what you like cos it is your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I like giveaways if they are in moderation...like maybe once a week? I think it's a good way to find new crafters who make their own goods to sell but [like others] don't like when it takes over a blog. I've done some blog giveaways so I might be biased :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. I don't care for giveaways......I also have stopped following blogs with too many. I think it's nice if the owner/writer of the blog gives away something from her own shop every once in a while, but I get SO tired of seeing all of these wonderful blogs turn into nothing but giveaways.

I'm with you - I think a craft blog should be just that, but then again, maybe I'm a blog snob too :-)

Hope you are having a great weekend!

  90. I really love your blog because I know I can come here and see fun, unique ideas made by you. Giveaways are fun once in a while (with one simple way to enter) but I really don't like blogs with a feature or giveaway every other day. I like your ideas and that's what I want to see.

    ReplyDelete
  91. As many other followers said, I follow your blog for the wonderful ideas and projects you post. A lot of times I don't even enter a giveaway when you have to scroll down like 500 comments first! I love your blog the way it is, and don't mind the occasional giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I agree with many other readers, I enjoy giveaways but not all the ones that have all the "extra ways to enter"

    ReplyDelete
  93. LOVE giveaways! Of course, the blog should mainly be about crafting, but there's nothing like an exciting giveaway to spice things up!

    ReplyDelete
  94. I like them if it's just by comments, not by subscribing, adding you on FB, running laps around the house, etc. And if it's stuff YOU like. I think you should keep your style even in giveaways. :) And like others said, don't let it take over your crafty goodness.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Maybe just limit them to once a week. I read this blog mostly to see what you have to say, but it's cool to see other's stuff every once and awhile.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I too love giveaways, and have won some really cool items that I would have otherwise never bought...now I love them, buy more and tell all my friends!

    ReplyDelete
  97. I don't mind giveaways as long as they meet some criteria. 1) Not too often -- maybe once a month? Maybe twice? 2) Related to the blog. Craft blog? Craft stuff. Interior design? stuff for the home. And no stretching it to make it fit! I've done two on my blog (a teeny-tiny unread blog about parenting) and people seem to like it.

Then again. I never win, so I REALLY, REALLY DISLIKE THEM!

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think giveaways make it fun! Just don't make me jump through all sorts of hoops to enter. Just let me leave one comment and be done with it (e.g., I like how Dana does giveaways at MADE).

    ReplyDelete
  99. I love your blog, and part of the fun is occasionally being introduced to a new product (via giveaway) made by a small "mom" company. I like it when it is simple, just leave a comment, get entered. No extra entries for la la la. It gets confusing. Your blog is amazing, and your taste is exceptional, so I trust your judgement!

    ReplyDelete
  100. definitely down with the giveaways.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I agree that it's up to you. I like giveaways, but not too many. I also think you could limit them to relevant items. I found lots of neat items that I didn't even realize were out there.
I also agree with one entry for everyone, makes it more fair. I don't like the blogging about it to get 5 more entries.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I kind of get annoyed at giveaways sometimes. I'm with you - a craft blog should be a blog about crafts! Most of the time I skip giveaway posts because a billion people sign up so what are the chances of winning? AND I'm more interested in tutorials and getting inspiration. BUT I wouldn't mind an occasional giveaway. I'm not THAT snobby! :) So, really it's your personal opinion that matters most!

    ReplyDelete
  103. There are a few blogs I've stopped following because all they have is giveaways and I don't want any free stuff, I just want neat craft ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I personally don't care much for giveaways and don't enter them. But from what I understand you usually get something free for having the giveaway and I think that is fantastic. You spend a lot of time on your blog and you don't get paid! So if this is away you can try out some cute things for you and your family then go for it!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Followers are rewarded by giveaways (or the winning followers are) but they're here for your ideas. You can limit them if you want, or stop, no one will fault you since your ideas are what people are here for and rewarded enough by that alone. But if you like to give your followers a chance to win free stuff, you can do it occasionally. I'd recommend doing it if you support the thing you're giving away and want to promote it because you're excited about it and think your followers will be excited about it too.

Thanks for all your hard work!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I do like giveaways, but not all of them, like for big stores. Unique/etsy shops are my favorite because I always discover such beautiful handcrafted items. If it weren't for a giveaway, I might not find them. Some even inspire me in my own crafting.

It is your blog, so do what you think is best.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I love giveaways and often visit a sight if it has a giveaway. Like many other readers, I do not like the multi entry componant with visiting. One entry per person.

    ReplyDelete
  108. well i do like giveaways but i am not a fan of blogs that become all about giveaways. i do enjoy it when a blog has a few days of just giveaways as a celebration of summer or something and then gets back to their blogging the rest of the time. did i say that right? do you know what i mean?

    ReplyDelete
  109. I do get really excited about some giveaways! I won two in one day which totally blew my mind. I also love your blog though and don't mind one way or the other. I admire you for all of your craft blog posts each week because my craft blog has taken on some randomness and hasn't been kept up lately... :( Anyway, love you whatever you do!

    ReplyDelete
  110. I like the giveaways but agree with many of the other posts that it shouldn't take up so much space and take away from the blogs primary purpose. I would visit no matter what you decide. Thanks for all the great ideas you share.

    ReplyDelete
  111. As many, many others have said, giveaways are nice in moderation. I've only entered if I really like what is being given away. I have won a few things before, one from a Mom&Pop sort of shop and one from a crafter. I am so NOT crafty and I was excited to get something that someone else made so I could see it in person.

    One entry is nice.

    Moderation, moderation, moderation.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I think it clutters the blog.
It is a great way to get sponsors and for people to advertise............BUT I always skip over giveaways because I'm looking for the creative ideas on craft/sewing blogs.

    ReplyDelete
  113. first. i really love your blog. i love the ruffley, pretty things you share! you have inspired me to create some goodness!!

second. the giveaway thing. i sorta like them - because i have a sweet little etsy shop, and it is a great way to get more exposure. (prettylittleme.etsy.com)

third. i sorta hate them though too. i just don't love it when you have to become a follower, or do all these "things" to even enter a giveaway. i just think you should be able to leave one comment, and then you just have to cross your fingers that you win, ya know what i mean?

anyway, that is my 2 cents. no matter what you choose with the whole giveaway thing, just be sure to keep up all the great work and fun tutorials!! you're awesome!

    thanks Disney!

    ReplyDelete
  114. i agree with alot of the comments already said...i don't like when you have to do stuff to get extra comments. one comment per person sounds good to me. and i wouldn't mind one per week or something like that. love the blog! your stuff is adorable. :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yay! I am so glad that you decided to get rid of the "read more" button. I like being able to scroll down without that extra click.

As for the giveaways, like everyone else said, it is all up to you. I bet if you do, do a give away, you'll have at least 500 comments even if it is one comment per person.

    Happy weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm all for the giveaways! Never won a thing, but, got to know some great blogs, products, creators! I love blogging (read and post..), and i think it is part of the game. I love this about the Internet that small businesses get a chance!! I assume you'll "promote" only businesses you like yourself and i think it's a classical win-win-win situation. Have a wonderful week and thanks for asking.

    ReplyDelete
  117. i'm looking forward to the day i win a giveaway just because i think it's fun. but, i do think it's a good idea to keep you're blog about crafts because that's why i (and i'm sure a lot of woman) read it. Maybe if you just did giveaway for craft products?

p.s. you're amazing! thanks for all the tutorials!

    ReplyDelete
  118. trust your gut, disney.

personally, i think giveaways are tacky. i don't go to blogs to get free stuff... i go for the great ideas- and you already have plenty of those! pleeeeease, no giveaways.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I like giveaways, but I certainly am not going to stop reading if you decide not to do it. You blog, your choice. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  121. I totally agree with a lot of people who've said they tire of blogs that seem to get overrun by giveaway after giveaway. Plus yeah, it's annoying with the whole 'get an extra entry if you......' I have to admit, because of this I really love reading blogs that don't have giveaways! lol

  122. Hello Disney!

I´m a reader from germany. My english is not as good as it shut be, but I try to make a comment.
I read your blog since a few weeks and I love it so much. By the way, your daughter is a beautiful model!
I don´t like giveaways on blogs. If I read a blog, then I do it because I like it. It´s fun to try your ideas by myself. I understand your blog as an inspiration, not as a present shop where I can get goodies.
Keep on crafting and sewing, you are such a lovely person!!!

    Greatings from germany!

  123. I personaly love give aways,
I rad your blog because I like it,
but give aways show us things we might never have heard of, and so we discover new things!

    ReplyDelete
  124. I like presents, whom no?

however, I do not like sponsored posts, they break blog's magic and the individuality, because it's not something that you like and then you wrote about it, it is something imposed.

Moreover, I do not mind, when a craftsman, makes a giveaway for being known or for promotion, just because it's an own decision.

Anyway, it's a very personal opinion, and whatever you decide i'll continue visiting you!

Greetings from Spain! and excuse my bad english..

  125. Hi disney, everyone like giveaways, but i think a little happiness is feeling big giveaway sometimes.it depends...
this look of your site is much better then previous.really....

    ReplyDelete
  126. i think people love giveaways, but it's really up to u.

it's also a good way to boost publicity for your blog!

(not that u need that :D)

    ReplyDelete
  127. It's your blog, and I don't think you should feel pressured to post something that you aren't comfortable with, but an occasional giveaway of something that relates to your blog-content is fun.

If you have a minute, pop over to my blog and see my Ruffles & Stuff-inspired t-shirt refashion!

    ReplyDelete
  128. I love your blog just the way it is. It is a constant source of inspiration, and I'm always amazed by your instructions, your photos, and your amazing ideas. Truly! Today, in fact, I plan on tackling the Beachcomber Dress AND the necklace with the ribbons on it. Thank you for being so generous with your time and ideas!

Like some other posters here, I am not a huge fan of giveaways. Occasionally, maybe. But I love this blog exactly the way it is :-).

    ReplyDelete
  129. I personally love giveaways! It's fun to win stuff, plus you can learn about shops or craft blogs starting up. It's a thumbs up from me!

    ReplyDelete
  130. I like the idea of giveaways but never seem to actually sign up to enter. Either way works for me. I think your blog is great just like it is.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I like seeing more posts! Thanks for switching it!

I don't mind giveaways....like you said....it can help small businesses!

    ReplyDelete
  132. I love giveaways. I think it's a great way to expose your readers to new blogs and other artisans.

    ReplyDelete
  133. I actually really really hate giveaways. I completely agree with you, a craft blog should remain a craft bog. I actually just stopped following Make it and Love it because every time I went there it was another darn giveaway!

If I want to win something, I'll sign up for a sweepstakes or go to one of the other 8 million websites dedicated to giving things away. I come to craft blogs, because I want to learn CRAFTS!

    ReplyDelete
  134. I love giveaways. It adds a little fun. There's only a problem when it starts being more giveaway posts then crafting posts. I haven't won one yet but I'm always hopeful.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I love giveaways, too. Although, I've never won one, but I love the thought ;)

    ReplyDelete
  136. Giveaways are fun as long as they are not too often, they should be an occasional treat not an everyday item.
But if you decide to get rid of them don't worry your blog is excellent and can definately hold its own :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Hi Disney - I've been a reader for awhile, but I don't usually make comments. Not sure why. :)

I don't like giveaways at all. I feel like it's reading a magazine and you flip through the pages and see advertisement after advertisement. I love the content of your blog. You don't need filler posts, even though I know that's not what you are trying to do. You are sweet and love to help out the fellow small business. It's up to you, but I seriously vote on few and far between giveaways.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I wouldn't mind maybe once a week, but I hate it when they take over a blog or seem to go on for days and days. One blog I read does 3 giveaways per Saturday and picks and post winners on Sundays. That's it, no more, and they don't get mentioned all week long. You get one vote by leaving a comment, which I like--I hate the hoops to jump through--become a follower, tweet about it, facebook about it, etc. etc.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I like giveaways occasionally but even once a week is too much for me! I never win and neither has anyone I've known personally.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Giveaways are good for two reasons, its an opportunity to give back to your readers and They help smaller business get more visibility and if your at the top of the ladder as far as readers and popularity then you have a responsibility to help others. However, it should not detract from the message and purity of your mission and blog. Decide to do 1 a month or 1 every other month and get a balance between helping and giving, and writing your blog.

    Hope this helps

    ReplyDelete
  141. I usually don't comment on blogs or enter giveaways. Do you use facebook? maybe if u don't want to clog your blog with giveaways you could set up a FB acct. just for giveaways.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Oh, thank goodness. I really don't like clicking to read more, but I didn't want to say that. lol

Giveaways are fun, as long as they stay totally on topic and are not every day. That's my two cents!

    ReplyDelete
  143. I love your blog and I love free giveaways! Though I've never won one... :-(

Hoping I can ask a quick question while I'm commenting-
I'm a college student on a low budget and would LOVE to start sewing- lamp covers, old clothes, etc. It would be helpful for my room, wardrobe, and bank account! In terms of finding fabric and a decently-priced machine, where do I start?

    ReplyDelete
  144. I love giveaways, especially if it's something crafty or supplies. But I would read your blog regardless because it's pretty! And you have the most awesome tutorials.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I like giveaways, but I prefer when they have something to do with what's happening on the blog (ie during events like Celebrate MOM) That way they don't get overwhelming. I also think that the owner of the blog should "like" the thing being given away, if you know what I mean. It should be something that the author would want to promote.

    HTH ;)

  146. It was such a tiny thing but I am glad we can read the entire post now--silly, huh?

I am torn about giveaways. I have won a few really great things and I like how it supports small business. But I do not like blogs that become all about giveaways--I would much rather see sponsor buttons on the side.

    ReplyDelete
  147. There definitely needs to be balance. Some of my favorite blogs have lost their appeal, because they become "giveaway" blogs. I agree that I prefer just seeing the sponsor buttons on the sidebars, and an occasional big giveaway is fine.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I am not a big fan of giveaways, but I would say go with the masses.

    xx

    ReplyDelete
  149. I love giveaways! Love winning them- it's just fun! Also a great way to learn about new items!

    ReplyDelete
  150. After seeing the blog both ways, I think I like the several posts at a time best! I'm glad you changed it back :)

As far as the giveaways... It is a tough call, because I get so excited when I see a new post on the dashboard and sometimes when I see the word "giveaway" too often I stop clicking since I rarely win. I'd say on a scheduled basis would be nice, so we know ahead of time that you'll have like a Friday giveaway day or something? Or maybe not everyweek, but however often you need :)

I also agree with some of the other comments that it's annoying when it seems to only be to get new followers like become a follower to enter. That's a little silly.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I like how your blog is now, and as for my input about give aways, I'm with you on a craft blog just being a craft blog. not so say that if you included more give aways that I would stop reading or anything.
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  152. I love give-aways! I recently won some Shaklee cleaner on a blog give-away and will likely be buying more of the product when my sample is done. With that being said though, I've never ordered from anyone who I saw on a blog give-away. Sure, I might like their stuff and think it's pretty or sounds useful, but I'm just not one to go through the process of ordering gifts and things online much.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I kind of feel the same way you do, but everyone seems to love free stuff right. I guess a giveaway would be best suited for a special occasion. Just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I love your new blog layout, but I do prefer seeing more than one entry on a page. Love that! Sometime I don't check my favorite blogs for a few weeks, and it's good to be able to see all of the new posts at once!

As for the giveaways... I like them. =) I haven't actually WON anything, but listen here sister, it's YOUR blog and you do it the way you want!! We all love you any way you go!! =)

    ReplyDelete

  156. I love giveaways, but I'd totally understand if you'd want them in their own section.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I like them as long as all you have to do is comment once and not have to jump thru hoops to get signed up or do such and such for extra entries.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I like the ocassional giveaway, especially if they are craft related. I don't like when they get to be too frequent with stipulations on how you may enter (following, twitter, facebook,etc.). I agree that your bolg is absoloutley beautiful, one of the few I visit everyday, and it would be a shame to see it cluttered with sponor buttons, if that were a stipulation of doing the giveaways.

Long story short, your blog is awesone and most people would visit without giveaways, they would however be a nice occasional treat.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Funny that you should post about this because it's something I've been kind of thinking about myself. I rarely enter giveaways over at other blogs because I've yet to win one (I know, booo on me for a bad attitude lol). I host them over at my blog on occasion and that's okay for me but I definitely don't want to become a giveaway blog more than a crafty blog, ya know? So, my vote is that once in awhile is great but not every day. Love your new look by the way. So pretty. :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. An every once in a while giveaway sounds great to me :)

    ReplyDelete
  161. Hi Disney,
First of all, I love your blog :). I'm actually not a big fan of giveaways on blogs. Why?? Because I think the main focus should be on crafts. That being said, giveaways (in my opinion) give a blog a more commercialized, advertisement feel, and the reason I love craft blogs is because they bring a more homey, creative/made with our own hands feel to an insanely commercialized world. Just my 2 cents!

  162. Hi!
I think they're fun, as long as they don't overwhelm the blog. I mostly come for the crafty stuff, but I like giveaways too.
You know, I think the reason you get a lot of requests, is because you're blog is AWESOME and you have a lot of followers. Maybe you could offer advertising space for a fee? then someone's blog/website or whatever could be on the side for a week or something. THAT would be COOL, and I'd totally rent space. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I am not a lover of giveaways. I have never won anything and I'd rather have a tutorial any day!

    ReplyDelete
  164. I am not a huge fan of the give away either. I really am more interested in crafting than more free stuff.

And THANK GOODNESS you switched back to the old format. I have a delightful little one at home and sometimes all I can do is take a quick scroll instead of clicking and waiting for it to load. And I can't say that I find that to diminish the lovliness of the site in the least!

    ReplyDelete
  165. I agree with what many people are saying. I love your blog so much...I am new at sewing and I love seeing all of the crafts that you make. :) I also love give aways as long as there aren't so many that that is all the blog is.

    ReplyDelete
  166. I like giveaways because it often exposes me to new things. I bought something because I didn't win the last giveaway I entered and was so happy I did. Also, I like the format where you can see several posts at once, because I don't have time to read every day, so that way I can "catch up" a lot easier.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I think you should do giveaways, they would add a lot to your blog and probably even bring you more traffic.

Many of us who participated in the maryjanesandgaloshes.com playhouse giveaway back in winter are wondering how you liked the playhouse you won in the blog author playhouse giveaway she also hosted. Are you ever going to post about it?

    ReplyDelete
  168. so, i'm maybe i'm wierd too, but i don't really like the giveaways either. too much like soliciting...

    ReplyDelete
  169. I adore giveaways and I prefer the layout of your blog right now. I love being able to scroll down and see any posts I've missed!

    ReplyDelete
  170. I love giveaways, it always fun, and sometimes the cute item in the giveaway sparks a great idea and ends up being a fantastic and fun craft.
And I like your blog the way it is now, I wasn't really into the click to find out more. If I'm looking for something in particular I scroll down to find the lists, otherwise I like just scrolling through the blog.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I really like giveaways. It gives me an opportunity to become more familiar with things that I never knew I needed :) Giveaways are great in my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I like giveaway ok, though I think in excess, I agree with you. I just started my shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/SilverRoseSewing) and blog, and am sponsering a giveaway, which will give me some much needed exposure. I think they work well for unseen designers who need to get their product out there, but perhaps I am biased, and also very new to the whole process.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I would rather not see giveaways on your blog. I think that the sewing tips and ideas are gift enough to us and I enjoy reading your blog for that reason. Do what is best and easiest for you, this blog is about what you love and your love for crafting.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I love giveaways! But I like reading your blog either way!

  175. Hi Disney!

I just wanted to let you know I think your "On My Mind" is a brilliant idea! I am doing something similar on my blog "I'm just saying..." I think you use that phrase before or did it come up with it on my own. If you did use it before, is it okay if I use it too? I don't mind changing it if it bothers you.

    My blog is: www.justbettertogether.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  178. Thank you for going back to the see a few posts at a time!
Giveaways... one entry per person... those are great every once in a while. But, too many with too many requirements are not so fun.

  179. Justine: You are so sweet to ask. Yes, that's the phrase I used before, but of course you're more than welcome to use it!

  180. I love giveaways and have won a few times. But I do a lot of beading and giveaways are an opportunity to see the work of different artisans/designers - if I don't like what's on offer, I don't enter. Agree with many others about posting on facebook page, etc - I have done it but often don't becasue it seems a bit pushy.

Since it is your blog, you need to be happy with it - seems like lots of people, including me, will keep reading without giveaways

  181. Disney: I LOVE giveaways, but simple ones. Give each person exactly one chance to win. Don't make them become a follower or "like" you on facebook or tweet about you. Keep it simple, and people will read your sweet blog either way. Thanks.

  182. I think giveaways are awesome, but if you don't personally care for the items, then it doesn't really make sense for you to promote them. I would say if you love the item, go for it. Otherwise, politely declining is fine. :)

Thanks for always being fun to read!

  183. The truth? I usually click "mark as read" everytime I see a giveaway in my Google Reader.

BUT I think that giveaways are great when they don't take away from the blog's content. I've seen a lot of bloggers do something along the lines of "A Chair Before/After and a Giveaway." I'll be much more likely to give attention to the giveaway when I get other blog content along with it.

  185. I just stumbled on your blog and LOVE it!! Your tutorials are great!
I do like giveaways, even though I haven't won a single one yet. I don't like the ones that you have to follow to get another chance and do 5 other things to get more chances. If you like the giveaway, I think you should just enter once and be allowed to enter only once.

  189. I follow your blog and love it! I like giveaways but find the ones that ask you to go to their facebook or twitter annoying, love the ones that just ask for you to live a comment and that's it. I have won one giveaway and was thrilled. Myself I love the ones that do a giveaway for achieving so many posts or followers. I like them once in a while also.

  190. Wow, this is a hot topic!! I came over from Make It and Love It as she is discussing the same thing and I definitely agree with both of you!

I agree with Ashley in the sense that the sponsors take such good care of us and make it worth the time we spend on our blogs. It's a ton of work and it has turned into a pt job for me. LOVE my sponsors!

I agree with you in the sense that if you have a blog about crafts it really needs to stay a blog about crafts and the giveaways shouldn't take over.

I have really enjoyed reading all of these fabulous comments!! I am actually revamping my advertising and changing things up a bit...I usually keep my giveaways simple, however after reading these I think I'll take the "following" techniques off as well.

Disney, I think that was a great question to throw out there!!

  191. I love that you turned it back to be able to see more posts ... :-)

And about the giveaways. I do LOVE giveaways. I am holding the first one myself at the moment. BUT, having said that, I totally agree with you, too. I find it sad when I find a craft blog who seems to only do giveaways all the time. To be honest - I stopped reading craft blogs exactly for that reason. I think it is a difference whether someone is having a giveaway once in a while - and maybe even giving away something that she made herself. (I am not just saying that cause that's what I am doing right now. But I do it right now cause those are the giveaways that I really enjoy - and love to enter. Kinda like the one that SewMamaSew holds once a year ...) I have to say that I start finding the giveaways of companies rather annoying. I mean I do understand them ... but in the end it's advertising and does feel like it to me. And I do not like that. Maybe there are other ways to do giveaways than the usual "look at my shop and tell me what you like" kinda thing ... Or maybe you could have an extra giveaway directory or something like that - if you wanted to. That way it would not clutter up your blog and people could go there if they wanted to - or skip it ... Am not sure though whether the people providing the products would be okay with that though.

  192. I don't really have any personal interest in give aways. I never enter them. On the other hand I have a small business and have benefitted greatly from them. It's a tricky one. I think if you have tooo may it can be obnoxious.

  193. I LOVE it that you don't have giveaways! On a lot of blogs I feel like I'm bombarded with advertisements and have to sift through all of the junk to get to the content, but not with R&S. Great blog, keep doing what you're doing! Love it!
