A New Toy!

Is it OK if I just stop apologizing for not posting frequently enough? It's starting to feel a little repetitive.
(Maybe one more...I'm so sorry!)

I've got lots of crafts coming up (more on that tomorrow), but first I wanted to gush a little. Last week my dad called and asked if I wanted to trade him my Cannon Rebel xsi for his T2i...uh, YES!!!!! I am so excited!! Not only is it a few steps up the camera ladder, but it has hd video. *angels singing*  And he even threw in the battery grip! So here she is, my new camera, in all her glory:

I love you Dad. :O)

Notice the lovely camera strap? It's my old purse strap that I don't use. I saved it because I love the color and I knew I'd do something with it someday. I was right! Strangely, it's more comfortable than the Cannon strap that came with the camera. Hmm.

Right after my dad gave me the camera, my brother and sister-in-law gave me a 50mm macro lens. (Thank you, guys!!) I've been having fun with it this morning shooting random things around my kitchen...

Photography is so fun. Even if you're not amazing at it.

I'll talk to you tomorrow! Have a great day. :O)

Love,
Disney

  3. That is so exciting! I am just starting to get into photography and I got a Nikon D5100. I am petrified of it and keep it on auto. The manual is mocking me on my bedside table. I will get there. But your shots inspire!

  4. So fun! I have almost the same camera and can't figure out how to get that HD video to not be so jumpy. Guess it's time to read the rest of the manual. PS I LOVE your strap! What a great idea!!!

  15. Oh lucky you!! I love the photos you've taken, especially the wisk up close. Really eye-catching! I mostly use my camera to take pictures of my jewellery which I sell so I know the benefits of a good macro setting!

  17. I have a 55mm prime (known as the nifty fifty) and it is my go to lense. Perfect for portraits. (I also have a Cannon)

  18. Definitely stop apologizing, you don't owe us anything. You post when you want to and we should expect nothing more. I like the side-by-side photos, great idea.

  19. Last month I purchased the T3.
Still learning it, but truly enjoying it. As another commentor mentioned, I, too, am saving for a macro.
    Enjoy your blog.
    Have fun with your camera.

  21. Don't worry about apologizing for posting infrequently (maybe only when you're gone for a really long time, like a month or two, which I tend to do myself). My thinking is that when you are posting infrequently 2 things happen. First, the content posted tends to be more substantial and creative than the fluff of trying to post everyday. Second, you are enjoying your family and life more and therefore probably feeling happier and more inspired. (Or something more important needs to be taken care of at the time.) Seriously, if someone is truly offended that a blogger doesn't post everyday there is something wrong with that picture. So do your thing, we'll miss you when you're gone but we'll be here ready when you want to share! :)
