To Grandmother's House We Went

 I just love Oregon.
And family.
And family trips to Oregon!

My parents picked up me and Paige a couple of weeks ago and took us down for my grandma's 80th birthday. Fun!

My brother and his wife were also there with their little boy, Jack. Paige and Jack had a blast playing together!

It was so great to spend some time with family.
(Don't I have the cutest grandpa ever??)

My grandma is the best cook! But it was the first time I've been to my grandparent's house since I found out about my food allergies. I would have given anything to eat those biscuits! :o)

(I could eat this biscuit, too!) :O)

I think I should tell you that my grandpa is Cpt. Amazing.
He built this rock wall and fireplace in their house using gorgeous rocks he's collected while on hikes in the Oregon woods. The same woods he used to take me and my siblings to when we were little. (Memories!) He also carves these amazing walking sticks from branches he finds.

Their whole house is just so cute. They have no idea how trendy they are! It's like they bought everything on Etsy. :o)

And their garage is pretty much an antiques store! These photos aren't even half of the cool treasures they have.

Their back yard is equally cool. I didn't get photos of it all, but they have a homemade rock pond, a merry-go-round, rock-covered chimney, welded elk fencepost toppers, tree stump animals to ride and countless other amazing things. My grandpa is one talented man.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Oregon scenery. And the rain! It rained almost the whole time.

We had the best time!  Yay for family time!
(Thanks mom and dad for taking us!)  :o)

And before I go, I thought it might give you a laugh to see these photos of me that my grandma had...what a little goober I was. :O)

Hope you're having a nice day!

Love,
Disney

  15. This is the cutest! Your Grandpa makes me think SO much of my Grandpa and all my great uncles! My Uncle Gig was as crafty as the rest of them but he made these tiny little wooden bird houses that were more like people houses because they were so intricate and unique. Plus, grandpa and his brothers were all collectors, and carvers, and Oregonians. I feel like we are related.

  19. Hi Disney!
I really enjoyed seeing your grandparents house again. We used to visit there on Sundays after church. I remember you as the sweet little girl in front of the tree in the photo. I miss your grandparents and wish I could come visit again. I hope your brothers & Nissa are all doing well. We are all fine. Take care!
