Ordinary Things
I discovered Instagram recently.
It is my new temporary obsession. If you haven't heard of it, it's an iphone/ipad (and now Android?) app that lets you take photos with fun filters. Really simple. And fun! It makes the most ordinary things look fantastic! OK. Maybe the toilet paper only looks fantastic in my mind...but you get where I'm going.
Paige and I went on an "ordinary things" scavenger hunt before church this evening and this is what we found:
(The only extra-ordinary thing of course would be the subject in the bottom right hand corner.)
Here's to ordinary things. Let's not take them for granted! Just think how life would change without phone lines. Thread. Toilet paper! Let's look around right now and be thankful for all those little ordinary things that we are blessed with. Sometimes we forget just how much we have. After all, if you are reading this blog on your computer, you are filthy rich.
Have a great (and thankful!) day!
Love,
Disney
I love this and completely agree - I love that instagram transforms ordinary things. I am so thankful for all of our "ordinary" things! :)
ReplyDeleteDisney,
ReplyDeleteThis actually made me tear up. Thanks for the reminder.

ReplyDeleteHi Disney,
ReplyDeleteI love Instagram too! I work as a professional real estate photographer and have thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment, but I end up using Instagram for most of my non-real estate photos. I love how they look. Over 1,000 pics on my iPhone since October!
The picture of your daughter is so sweet! I love instagram!
ReplyDeleteInstagram is one of my favorite obsessions too. I love all the filters and how easy it is to use. (I just wish it was less expensive/ easier to get prints!)
ReplyDeleteI love instagram especially now that I'm super pregnant and have a hard time carying my heavy camera in my purse
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely post, I always try to be grateful but its usually for big things like my home or family and I forget about all the hundreds of little things that make a big difference - like toilet roll!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely blog you have! I'm new to the whole blogging thing, and found yours through Pinterest. Absolutely love your style and your tutorials. And your daughter is super cute!
ReplyDelete:)
Instagram= so much fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I recognize that photo second from the bottom right corner. Mr. Darcy! LOVE him! And I LOVE those babylit board books. I can't enough of them. I just started following you recently and you have great ideas and very sweet little girl!

What a fun idea! I'm not on instagram. But I want to take my girls around tomorrow, and take pictures of "every day stuff." I think they'll have a lot of fun. :)
