Ahhhh....  :o)

Does anyone else have a thing about using the same color of pins when you're pinning fabric? I finally took ten minutes to organize mine so I don't have to hunt for the right color now. I'm a happy crafter.

Love,
Disney

  1. Nice! I used to but then I ran out of pins to pin a circle skirt hem and didn't put them back in the original spots.

  2. Wow! I would say life is too short for colour matched pins... but it does look very pretty!

  3. Haha I'm kinda like that too... Very OCD.

  4. Hello Disney, I just wanted to share with ou that I made your marvellous scrunch belt. Although I think yours is much prettier than mine, in the end I was very pleased.

It is in portuguese but you can translate it at the right side. This is a post about my 30th birthday part. Hope you like it :)

  5. Um...yes, I absolutely love pinning fabric with matching pins. Your picture made me feel so happy! I also like stationary a rediculous amount!

  6. I never really thought about it. I happen to have all yellow pins because that is what came in the package I purchased. I guess it is kind of nice having all one color.

Wanted to let you know that I really love your garden skirt and hope to make it sometime. Please tell Paige that the socks she decorated were really cute and that I hope to see more Paige Crafts in the future.

Thank you so much, Disney, for your sweet comment on my blog. It meant so much to know you were thinking of me during my difficult time.

Did you ever get a chance to take a look at my post where I made the head wrap and cowl neck from a sweater? It turned out so cute. Here is the link if you would like to see it:

  7. No, I haven't thought of matching head pin colors but this is such a good excuse for making more pincushions just for myself so that I can try different models :)

  8. The pins don't need to match the fabric, but they must have the same colour, of course. I have pins in every colour of the rainbow, never enough for one project. So I start with one colour and when I don't have any more pins of it I take the next one. Not very consequent, but I can live with it. And I have only one pincushion for all colours, but they all have their own section. I am so happy to know, others are as crazy as I am.

  9. I really like this idea. I'll make sure to organise my pins on colour when I have the time.

  10. Wow! I love how you organized them :-) Such a simple and subtle way of doing so, but the result is beautiful!

  11. It's almost like a little work of art! I'm really weird when I use my pins that I have to try to keep the pincushion looking even as I work. So I have to pick from the places on the cushion that look more populated. I don't know why I started doing it...so weird!

  12. Nice idea!! Looks like pins on sale :)

  13. No. But I have plenty of other quirks to make up for it. Most of my pins are the exact same color so perhaps that helps. ;) I love that you organized yours though; it actually is quite beautiful to look at. ~Robin~

  14. I have a box of pink and white pins which I like to see all mixed up :)

  15. This is adorable.

    Also, YOU are adorable.

  16. I don't use the same color fabric, I HAVE to use a contrasting color. I like seeing all the polka dots of color!

  17. Ha ha, I thought I was the only one who coordinated pins and fabric!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ha ;D that's funny! I get like that too sometimes =}

  19. Oh I love that you do this, because yes. Yes I am weird about that! I have a similar system with hangars. They don't match, they have to be complimentary (so, white or green hanger for black clothes, black hangers for mixed patterns or white clothes, etc)

  20. I've worked so hard to train myself into not caring if they're all the same colour! But I can't always do it. My Mom used to make fun of me so much because I HAD to use two same-coloured clothespins for hanging up a garment (we had a multicolour set). The year I moved out she bought me an all-white set :)

  21. Yes, yes, yes! I will even use the same color push pins on my bulletin board.

  22. What a gorgeous idea - I love all the colours!!

  23. I've got the same thing as Erin!
When hanging clothes out to dry, I gotta use the same color of clothespins for a pair of socks or to pin a shirt...

  24. Oh, I'm so glad I'm not alone! Although I can use different colours, as long as they're arranged in a pattern. Once I finish my project, I'll often sit and 'reorganise' the pin cushion so all the colours are together. :)

  25. Yes, yes! It adds to the fun. (I eat M&Ms by color, too.)

  26. I am SO doing this.

Next sewing project: Make fun colored/shaped/designed pin cushions. AND DISPLAY THEM. *makes mental note*

  27. Loving your collection of pin cushions. I wonder... Do you have a favourite?

  28. LOL. Too funny. I was sort of playing with all my pins on my pin cushion too. Certain colors had to be in certain sections.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hehe, I thought I was the only one that did that, turns out there are quite a few of us! Sometimes I will even use less pins than I should just so they will match each other. =)

  30. your work is soo flawless!!!! love it.

  31. I am SO happy to know I'm not the only one! Color coordinating your pins is very important to maintaining balance in the universe. Seriously, it's an OCD thing I have (one of many).
I just found your blog and I'm really enjoying it! You have gained a new follower!
