Lavender Baby!

I'm helping out with a baby shower for a little girl a week from Saturday. Yay! A little girl this time!

I asked the mom-to-be, Claire, what theme she would like, encouraging her that she could make a theme out of just about anything! She picked lavender and elephants.
Hm.
Didn't see that one coming.

Don't get me wrong, that will be super-cute! I just knew that I didn't have much in my craft room that was any shade of purple. (It's my least favorite color-shhh! Don't tell her!) So I hunted through my insanely full-of-stuff craft room and these are the only things I found:

As you may imagine, the "elephant" search in the craft room was even less successful. ;o)

So that's what I have to make a baby shower out of! Piece of cake!

Good thing I have a partner in crime this time. :O)

How are you doing, today? Are you doing okay? I sure hope so.

I'll talk to you soon! Paige will be around soon with her latest tutorial. (I should have a talk with her about deadlines. haha)

Love you!

  7. I know you are a reader of Mollie. The latest issue we have in the states has cute elephant brooches. I know the website has the templates!

  8. I see the pompons hanging from a thread, from the ceiling, or something like that... maybe on some wire, making a nice decoration inside a vase as if they were "flowers"??

  9. That is too funy! I did a lavender rhino baby shower a couple of years back! Lavender because I am obsessed with it, and rhino because of the mommy to be.

  10. Oh I'm so glad to hear we share a least favorite color! I just posted yet another post about my dislike of purple. I'm sure you will knock this out of the ballpark as usual though! I laughed about the lack of purple supplies - I have a spool of purple thread that came in a set, but that's it.

  12. Good luck! It's always a bit of a fun challenge when you don't have exactly what you need though, isn't it? And you can always add a little white as a "filler color" that will only enhance the purples. Can't wait to see the final result!

  22. I love the chiffon/tulle/sheer fabric you have! Don't know why, but I've always had a thing for sheer fabric and ribbons. I can't wait to see what you come up with. The lavender and elephants remind of Winnie the Pooh and Heffalumps. :)
