Little Threads: Indian Summer

Dress: thrifted // Shoes: Land's End // Necklace: DIY (for Fresh Style mag) // Sunnies: Mom's/$Tree

Yesterday we mini golfed after evening worship and I decided to stop in a field on the way to snap a few shots of Paige. Can I just say how much I love her? It's funny to think of how it's perfectly normal for her that we stop for photo shoots on the side of the road at any point in time. The life of a blogger's kid. :o) As if being a preacher's kid wasn't enough!

Speaking of Paige, she is amazing. Just so you know. We were so curious about how things would feel for her having a new baby in the house and she has blown us away with how well she's adjusted. It's like he's always been here to her. To tell you the truth, I think she is thriving with a little bit more freedom. I think it's hard being an only child and having Mom and Dad's eagle eye on you at all times. Now that my attention is divided she seems so much happier. Haha. And she can't pass by Ace without  a kiss or a squish or some form of adoration.

Yesterday marked four weeks of Ace (our foster baby, if you're new) being with us. Oh, how we love him!! I have to constantly remind myself that he is technically not ours. People even say he looks like my husband, which is kind of neat. Not that it's at all important to us that he looks like us. Foster care is interesting because things can change in an instant with no warning, but I will tentatively say that it does look like we will have him for quite some time. Many of you have asked if we would be interested in adopting him if things turn out that way, and the answer to that would be a gigantic YES!! But even if that does end up being the case, it would probably be about two years before that could come about. So we're just enjoying him and loving him in the meantime and whatever will be, will be! Some of you have also asked about pictures of him. Because of our state laws, we're not able to post photos of our foster kids, so sorry you don't get to see his darling little face! Maybe someday. ;o)

Hope you're having a great start to your week! I don't know why Monday has such a bad reputation. It's the day of fresh starts! And that's a good thing. This week I'm working on more projects for Fresh Style. They asked me to do the kids' crafts section again (wow! yay!) so I'll be doing Christmas in July. Weird! But fun. :O)

Take care, darling!
Love,
Disney

P.S. Notice Paige's short sleeves?? Thank you all for the eczema prayers! Things are going pretty well there.

  6. You are the only person I "know" that can find something positive about mondays :) I really like the way you think and might just steal this thought!
Paige is a stunningly beautiful girl!

  7. Unfortunately this Monday saw me (and my three year old and one year old) sick with gastro...but I'm sure that's not Mondays fault.

What a beautiful little family. I wanted to comment on an earlier post you made, about not getting to attached to little Ace. I want to say GET ATTACHED. As a high school teacher I saw a lot of little (and not so little) poppets who just wanted to be loved, unconditionally, and though it hurts when you finally say goodbye you have given them the most precious gift you have. What you're doing is incredible.

  12. I love her outfit! It's so cute and stylish but yet it doesn't look like you're trying to make her into a little teenager. Beautiful photography too.

  13. WHA? HOW DO I MISS THIS STUFF?

A: Paige is gorgeous and I am SO happy about her eczema not being *so* bad!
B: YOU HAVE A LITTLE GUY :D HOW CUTE! I have ALWAYS wanted to foster, there are a few foster kids in my family that have been there for almost 10 years! When my sister & I were little we were in foster care very briefly :) I just don't know how I would be able to deal with it though :( like if my foster kid had to move on, or if it was an older child and disrupted my kids. Blargh. There are so many things to think about but I am SO stoked you have a foster son!

  15. I did notice Paige's short sleeves, and thought to myself, "Oh, wow! I'm so glad she's doing better!" And for some reason in these pictures she looks like she's shot up several inches. Crazy how fast they all grow up. And how fast time has gone with the new baby. I'm so glad God has blessed your family and him by this time spent together. It makes my heart happy just to know imagine how much he's being loved! I hope you are doing wonderfully!
