We Made This

I had to show you guys what we did this morning. We built a skateboard! I was going to wait until Paige was a little older to build one with her, but then I decided that I wanted one to play around with while I was at the park with her in the mornings. So we went to our local board shop and the owner (who was so, so nice, and I kind of wanted to beep his nose) helped us pick out the pieces we needed to put one together. I let Paige pick the deck and wheel/trucks color (purple. gag.) since we're kind of sharing it.

The guy at the shop offered to put it together for us, but I was like: "well, we kind of like making things...' ;o) It was kind of awesome putting it together. Except I pretty much shredded my fingerprints off smoothing out the grip tape because I forgot to bring a tool. Oops!

Isn't it amazing how making/building something yourself makes you love it so much more than just buying it? I love this little skateboard. I know you guys probably aren't as excited about our little skating adventures as we are, but I can't help sharing. It was such a cool experience! And! Guess what? I didn't die when I tried to skate on it! I didn't even fall off. I think I can do this. (And then she noticed that she was riding it backwards. In every photo. Whatever.) :)

Hope you're having a great mid-week!
Love,
Disney

P.S. Uh, wow. I am totally amazed by the "Happy Mail" giveaway responses. I can't believe how many of you have Etsy shops and are generous enough to donate! I may have to split this up into a couple of separate giveaways! I'll be in touch with all of you soon! :O)
