(Love is) Titanium

You know what I am obsessed with lately? This cover of "Titanium" by Madilyn Bailey. I just discovered it a few days ago and it's been on repeat over here since then.

This is so funny though-when I first heard this song, it just made me want to go hug all the people in the world! I've always been one of those people who are easily hurt by words. I try not to be overly sensitive, but when someone says something mean or snarky to me, it usually stays in my head for days. In fact, there have been some anonymous comments here on the blog from years ago that still pop into my head occasionally. (This is not good. I know.) But this song reminds me that even when people say things that kind of destroy my soul, I can still just love them and think they're wonderful. Because love is basically like titanium. And if you're filled with love, you're strong enough to deal with that hurtful stuff in a healthy and peaceful way, and that is such a relieving feeling for me. Listening to this song for me is like walking through a butterfly garden under a rainbow on a sunny day with ice cream.

But my husband walked upstairs and heard it for the first time and said: "Dude...what is it with you and depressing songs?"

Haha! I was like "huh??" So funny!

Have a listen:

Butterflies. Ice cream. Right?

So take that, "Anonymous"! You think I'm yucky? Well I think you're a Chow Chow puppy and I want to beep your nose. Beep! :o)

Love you,
Disney

P.S. I feel like I've been stuck at home by myself too much and I feel silly texting my friends about nothing-stuff like this. I'm glad you guys are here for me to share in my internet nothings. :O) You're the Tom Hanks to my Meg Ryan (my "You've Got Mail" Tom Hanks, that is, not my "When Harry Met Sally" Tom Hanks. I haven't even seen that. I don't think that fits us...)

"Yucky" Anonymous - I just delete those comments... It helps me, and is kind of vindictive at the same time. (I'm a bad girl.)
Love your blog, keep on keeping on.

  11. This song is really special to me, it was on the radio lots round me time my son was born. I felt really broken after an unpleasant birth which left me feeling really vulnerable. This song would speak to me because I felt like if I could go through this terrible birth and come out the other side then I could do anything, nothing anyone said could hurt me because my heart was titanium. I still get a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat whenever I hear the song, which is quite often cos it's my husband ring tone!
