One Year with Ace Face!

Today marks one whole year that we've had our little Ace Face. Can you believe it?? 365 days that he's been avoiding my smothering kisses. :o) I'll never forget getting the call from our foster care contact to take a newborn and deciding in a matter of minutes whether or not we were up to that task. He had some small medical issues that we had no idea how to handle and we were not at all baby-ready, but we decided to jump in head first anyway. I'm so glad we did! What a little stranger he was when we first met him in that hospital room. And now he's in my heart like he's always been there. He is such a joy to me, my heart leaps when I hear babbling from his crib in the morning.

We are still waiting to hear about adoption...these things take a lot of time. A lot. Of time. Mostly paperwork being shuffled to and fro, I believe. ;o) But I'm confident he will be where he needs to be in the end. Which I wholeheartedly believe is with us, the only family he's ever known.

Happy one year with us, sweet baby love!!

Goodnight, darlings. :O)
Love,
Disney

  2. I have friends who are trying to adopt 4 of their cousins (one parent passed away and the other spiraled way out of hand so the brother took in the 4 kids) and it does take a LOT of time. I hope things work out with Ace soon!
