American Girl (and Boy!)

Hehe. I got Ace a doll.
You guys! I cannot control myself. I LOVE American Girl. I love the dollies so much! And Paige loves them, too. We both giggle and squeal over each catalog like it's JK Rowling's newest piece of work. But today's post is about Ace. At first, when Ace saw our dolls, he was like:

But it wasn't long before he was sneaking into Paige's room to put hats on them and take the shoes on and off. Oh yes. He gets it. I wanted so badly to get him a little buddy-doll to carry around, but it wasn't really in our budget at the time. Or, really, any time. So I was so excited when American Girl said they would send Ace a set of Bitty Twins to enjoy and share on the blog! (Yes!! I knew I started this blog for a reason!)
The bitty twins are a set of two dolls that come in either boy/boy, girl/girl, or boy/girl, and you can choose between 5 skin/hair color combinations. They come with adorable outfits and a cute little book about learning to share, which is on point for my kids. ;o) We chose the brown haired boy and the sort of asian-looking girl for Ace and Paige. Ace was so excited when we showed him his new little buddy, and he and Paige have had so much fun playing with them.
And this is a little weird? But I really love having dolls that look like my kids. It's just kinda special.

I have to tell you something else. American Girl does not need publicity from Ruffles and Stuff. I mean let's be real. They're huge. So I think it was really nice of them to work with "the little guy". Not only that, they didn't make me jump through social media hoops, they didn't tell me how to phrase my post, they didn't even give me guidelines! They just said "sure!" and there was a box on my porch two days later. (Not that it's wrong for company's to give guidelines, I just personally feel like a post is so much more authentic when I can share it in a way that feels natural for me. Ya know?)
So, thanks American Girl. We super love you.

And hey! I love you, too.  :o) :o)

  15. I love that you gave your little boy a doll! It will teach him such good skills for being a compassionate and gentle man. My brother had a doll growing up. He's now a Naval Academy graduate with two daughters of his own and he's a great dad.
